RESULTS AND ANSWERS

Trustee Vacancies

   |   By

Dear Parents and Carers,

As we head into the summer break, we hope that your young person has enjoyed the experiences offered by Scouts Goldenacre this past year. Planning for next term is well underway and includes a revival of our Group trip to Europe, along with our now famous Bonfire Night, and Festive Coffee Morning fundraisers. Our Leadership team will also be planning next term’s regular programme aimed at helping our young people develop their #SkillsForLife.

Scouts Goldenacre is a dynamic and active Group, with a strong demand for places. Whilst the leadership team focus is on developing and delivering the programme to our young people, the Group’s management/oversight requirements are handled via our Registered Charity (which is managed by our Trustee    Board), and Group Leadership Team. Our Trustees carry out vital responsibilities such as managing our finances, making sure the Group follows the Scouting guidelines/rules, and making sure our activities with young people are run in the safest way possible.

We are currently looking for 3 new Trustees to join our Trustee Board and would welcome individuals willing to get involved and add their experience and support.

We rely on people like you playing their part to help give young people opportunities to dream big, give it a go, and build skills for life. Whilst some specific skills/knowledge may fit well, the most important requirements are enthusiasm, and a willingness to get involved. Scouts happens best when a lot of us give a little. Trustee appointments are for between 1 and 3 years; so you’re not signing up for a lifelong commitment – just to help out when you can.

Should you be interested in being a Trustee and wish to find out more, kindly let us know either via email (gsl@104thedinburghne.co.uk} or by contacting any of our Section Leaders. You will be made very welcome!

Trustee appointments will be confirmed at our AGM on 21 September,  so to get the ball rolling now, please let us know of your interest as soon as possible and, in any event, by Tuesday 3rd September.

Yours in Scouting,

Keith McRae.

Chair of the Trustee Board
